Our Curriculum Programs

We use The Creative Curriculum®, which is aligned with the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards in Education. Our lessons are designed to teach children through self-discovery and PLAY!

The Creative Curriculum® is the core of our early childhood program that focuses on specific interests and encourages children and teachers to be creative. Thinking of new ideas, gathering information through inquiries, and learning through trial and error are all examples of being imaginative.

Infants & Toddlers

Infant and toddler classrooms follow The Creative Curriculum® for Infants, Toddlers & Twos, which highlights the significance of the child-caregiver bond.

The Creative Curriculum® emphasizes a classroom setting full of responsive daily routines and meaningful, tailored experiences that support children’s learning and growth. Hellos and goodbyes, diapering/toileting, eating/mealtimes, sleeping/nap time, and getting dressed will all be known to you. These routines are the cornerstone of your child's day, as well as the foundation of learning.

Children gain trust and learn by experiencing the world around them through play because of the continuous caring interactions during everyday activities. In addition to daily routines, The Creative Curriculum® will assist your child's teacher in providing meaningful activities, such as playing with toys, reading books and stories, creating art, and going outside.

Teachers examine what children do in each of these situations and select appropriate materials for their developing talents and interests.

Infants and Toddlers

Preschool

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is based on 38 objectives for development and learning that focus on all the areas that are most important for school success: social–emotional, cognitive, math, literacy, physical, language, social studies, science, technology, and the arts. These goals are woven throughout every activity in the classroom, demonstrating the teacher is assisting children in developing skills and understanding in these critical areas throughout the day.

Our learning objectives and lessons are designed in a way that knowledge is gained while children feel as if they are PLAYING! We believe that children learn best through play and hands-on, authentic learning experiences.

Learning takes place through thematic units in The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool. Studies are in-depth, project-based studies of themed topics that are part of your child's everyday life. Themed units can last anywhere from a week to a month. Plants, weather, mammals, and holidays are among some the themes explored in preschool. Children generate questions about a subject and find answers by exploring, experimenting, and studying in a hands-on way—through classroom and outdoor activities.

Importantly, caregivers will follow the children's lead and pursue the topics and inquiries within each study that the children in their classroom find most intriguing, fostering a love of learning! Teachers will also be able to use their own "handprint" when creating lessons, drawing on their own personal experiences and passions to create classroom lessons.
